EPIHL Challenge Match

Despite being penalised just 15 seconds into the game Slough took an early lead at 1.48 with a shorthanded goal from summer signing Frankie Bakrlik and after the teams had traded powerplays Alex Barker netted Slough’s second at 18.17 to make it a 2-0 period.

The penalty calling clamed down in the middle period but Slough’s goal scoring continued and at 25.53 Bakrlik scored his second of the night to make it 3-1. Aaron Connolly scored at 34.48 with a powerplay strike and it was 4-0 heading into the second interval.

With the game comfortably won Slough’s coach Slava Koulikov didn’t ice in the third period and rested senior players allowing more junior squad members more opportunity. The game upped in feistiness and with the result not in doubt it was surprising when Gregg Rockman’s shutout was broken at 56.31 by Ollie Bronniman. As the final hooter sounded the players all came together which left the two referees dishing out penalties again.
