Slough killed off early penalties and lost Adam Greener to a 2+10 penalty but Adam Calder fired them into the lead with a powerplay goal at 15.25. Doug Sheppard made it 0-2 scoring the game winner on a powerplay chance just 59 seconds later but Ciaran Long ensured Manchester didn’t leave the first period scoreless when he netted at 18.29.

The second period saw some tense end to end hockey as two skilled teams battled out but with 1.22 left in the period Darius Pliskauskas netted Slough’s third past Stephen Fone to send the “away” team to the interval with a two goal margin.

The final 20 minutes of hockey of the 11/12 season got off to a fantastic start for Slough with Pliskauskas scoring his second of the night and what turned out to be the final goal of the season, making it 1-4 at 41.44. Slough then conceded a powerplay chance but killed if off confidently and as time passed Manchester’s task became harder and harder. Ladislav Harrabin picked up a penalty with 5.12 left to play which relegated Manchester to 2 minutes shorthanded and with that Slough eased to victory to be crowned the 2012 EPIHL Play-off champions.
