For the final game of pre-season Slough Jets took on Swindon Wildcats on the Hangar ice missing both Tomas Fojtik and Dan Davies.

Challenge Match

The first 9.28 of the game elapsed without a single whistle blow and it was a trip from Steve Whitfield the triggered the first stop in play.  At 10.17 Slough took advantage of the powerplay and Darius Pliskauskas scored finishing from Mindy Kieras and Ryan Watt.  With Ciaran Long serving a charging penalty the first period ended 1-0.

Back out for the second period Swindon quickly levelled up when Ollie Betteridge finished Hoog’s move to make it 1-1.  Slava Koulikov slotted home the go ahead goal with some skilful play at 27.38 and less than a minute later Danny Milton came on to replace Gregg Rockman and a 1-1 period saw Slough head to the locker rooms leading by one after 40 minutes.

The teams traded goals again in the third period, Ales Padelek netting past Stevie Lyle at 46.42 who departed the net in favour of Michael Crisp.  With 5.51 left Adam Harding beat Milton to score the game’s final goal but the home team still ended up victors with a 3-2 scoreline.
