Slough Jets made their first competitive trip to Bracknell to face the Bees for league and cup points missing Brandon Miles, JJ Pitchley, Gregg Rockman.

It was the home team who were ahead after 126 seconds when Ollie Bronniman opened the scoring against the short benched Slough squad and at 7.53 Lukas Smital made it 2-0 with a powerplay goal. Darius Pliskauskas scored the visitors’ opener at 9.02, also with a man advantage and with Michael Wales strike at 15.25 the game was level at 2-2. Dan Davies found the go ahead goal his 16.41 strike and that allowed Slough to take the interval a goal ahead.

3.27 into the second period Kamil Tvrdek drew the home team level at 3-3 with a 5 on 3 powerplay goal but Ciaran Long put Slough back ahead scoring an unassisted shorthanded goal at 24.00. With 4.33 left in the middle period Bracknell got back level ahead again with Jan Bendik netting past Danny Milton.

Back out for the third period Bracknell’s Matt Foord scored the game winning goal at 44.50. As time ticked out the game and Bracknell continued in the lead Milton was by far the busier netminder but he was pulled for the final 34 seconds to try and level the game but despite the empty net Bracknell held on for their win.

The first official road game of the season took place at the Hive where the Jets had already played against the Bees in pre-season competition.

Slough went into an early lead with just 68 seconds played when Joe Greener beat Tom Annetts and after a period of penalty killing by the visitors the home team converted a powerplay at 19.39 via Rob Lamey to end the first period 1-1.

A quick start in the second period saw Bracknell take the lead when Carl Graham scored at 21.56 and the Michael Bowman scored a powerplay goal against his former team at 24.09. Penalties seemed the order of the day as Ryan Watt pulled one back for Slough with 50 secodns left in the middle period ending it 3-2.

The penalties didn’t stop in the third period as Slough spent another 20 minutes killing penalties. Bracknell capitalise by extending their powerplay goal tally at 40.32 through Martin Masa and then Lamey again at 51.31 to make it 5-2. No further scoring took place and the home team claimed the points.

Having host the Bracknell Bees the week before Slough Jets made the short journey to their closest neighbours keen to continue the form that saw them win 9-0 the previous week.

The visitors came out and bossed the game right from the start and Captain Blaz Emersic put them in the lead just 3.39. As shots reigned in on the Bracknell goal James Kinght doubled the lead at 12.47 and Dan Davies added the third at 16.01 to make it 0-3 by the first interval.

Slough’s Paddy Ward started the second period still serving a 2+10 picked up in the first period and with Gregg Rockman struggling with an injury Bracknell capitalised and forced their way back into the game. Michal Pinc scored on the powerpaly at 20.27 then again at even strength at 24.12. Slough’s Ciaran Long netted at 24.38 to keep a margin between the teams but Ashley Calvert reduced Bracknell’s deficit to a single goal at 25.44 before Nicky Watt scored at 26.11 to level the game. Charles Kaylor then replaced Rockman in net and at 34.43 Jan Melichar converted a powerplay to re-take the lead for Slough and end the period 4-5.

Slough added another goal to their margin when Peter Jasik scored at 46.01 on the powerplay and continued to outshoot their opponents. With the final minute just started and Bracknell serving a penalty Pinc completed his hat-trick shorthanded to bring it back to a single goal. The home team pulled the netminder to try and force overtime but Peter Poljacek fired into the empty net at 59.22 to seal the result.
